Postdoctoral position available for a Ph.D. biochemist/enzymologist in
the Laboratory of Bacterial Pathogenesis and Immunology. The candidate
should have a strong background in protein purification, and
enzymology, with experience in molecular biology and microbiology.
Experience using state-of-the-art instrumentation for protein
purification and characterization a plus. Excellent writing and verbal
skills important. Our current work is focused on utilizing
bacteriophage encoded cell wall hydrolases as potential therapeutic
agents for the prevention of infectious diseases. We have developed one
such enzyme for streptococci and are now expanding this platform
technology to additional target organisms. Individuals selected for the
positions will have the opportunity to be involved with every aspect of
development from initial discovery to animal trials. Send a current
