Yeah, no kidding. At my previous postdoc, I spent 10 months looking for
a job, and could not find anything, despite the fact that I was at a
pretty well recognized school, had a fair number of publications, was
first author on most of them, in clinically related areas, blah blah blah
ad nauseum.... The usual, you know. Which is how I ended up in a second
postdoc. Recently, though, I have been developing contacts in the
medical publishing field, and have been thinking about working in that
area. I am not whining or complaining, but I don't see much of a
likelihood of a satisfying career in academic science.

So, I was trying to find out if others have had problems with repayment
agreements upon leaving science, and if others have had experience with
getting out of them. Technically, accordking to letter of the contract
that I signed, if I go to work in medical publishing, I have to pay back
several thousands of dollars.

I'm also in the Philadelphia area, BTW; know of any job openings?
