Postdoc Jobs at PostdocJobs.com (http://www.PostdocJobs.com):

When does drug discovery become drug safety?

Imagine a career that touches the lives of people around the world,
with the opportunity to combine your talents with those of others for
the betterment of mankind, reaching beyond your expertise and
impacting something greater than the bottom line. Imagine a career
that applies your talents to transform the discovery of new safer
medicines.

Working in a team-based environment with members of the local
Inflammation Research group, you will be responsible for the
development of disease relevant in vitro models for cartilage repair
and application of those models for pathway modeling, target
identification, validation and differentiation.

The successful candidate will have a PhD in a biological science or
bioengineering discipline and/or MD with technical expertise in
musculoskeletal biology and cartilage repair; experience in
musculoskeletal research, including cartilage biology and previous
application of in vitro and in vivo models of cartilage repair are
essential for this position; and the ability to sustain performance in
a highly interactive matrix organization. Experience in mesenchymal
stem cell differentiation is desirable as well as knowledge of
bioengineering principles and their application to assess tissue
phenotype and durability. Other technical capabilities such as primary
cell culture, in vitro differentiation, gene expression analysis,
functional cell-based assay evaluation, experience in viral delivery
systems and RNAi would significantly facilitate research in this
position.
