My ex supervisor is advertising this post. He got me through my PhD in record time with minimum trouble, so I'd recommend him as a good guy to work for. Postdoctoral Research Scientist in Physiology. A post doctoral research scientist is sought under a new 5-year Wellcome Trust Programme Grant to study flow, transport of macromolecules, and macromolecular sieving across interstitium in the synovial lining of joints. Trans synovial transport is fundamental to normal joint physiology and to clinical tests of joint disease activity. The new project is supervized by Dr JR Levick (Physiology, St George's) in collaboration with Professor RM Mason (Biochemistry, Charing Cross). The Lab is at St George's. Candidates should possess a PhD in Physiology or related subject and have a good primary University degree. The programme involves microvascular and interstitial physiology, animal research, and ancillary techniques such as HPLC and electron microscopy. Experience in these areas, while desirable is not vital; training is available. Funding is for 5 years, so drive, enthusiasm and adaptability are important, plusability to work later with a junior research assistant. Teaching opportunities exist in this busy department to aid career development. Starting date negotiable. Salary begins at UK 20,989 pounds inclusive of London Allowance with annual increments (Grade 1A Research Assistant; Wellcome level 2). Annual Meetings allowance of 500pounds available. For enquiries and more information contact Dr Rodney Levick (081 672 9944 ext 55354), St George's Medical School, Cranmer Terrace, London SW17 ORE, UK). email Dr Levick at physiol@sghms.ac.uk ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Dave Bates, dobates@ucdavis.edu Department of Human Physiology, University of California at Davis No I don't have a sense of humour, now buy me a beer ----------------------------------------------------------------------
