Postdoc: Electrophysiology, Neural Dynamics The postdoc will be involved in experimental studies of mechanisms of spike synchronization and central pattern generation in defined neural circuits using "dynamic clamp" techniques. Position requires a PhD in neuroscience, biophysics, physiology, biomedical engineering, or related disciplines. REQUIRED: experience in conventional in vitro cellular electrophysiology techniques (current clamp, voltage clamp, extracellular recording) Helpfull skills: - molluscan neurobiology (especially gastropods: Helisoma, Lymnaea, Aplysia) - computer skills (esp Linux) - invertebrate cell culturing - exposure or experience in computational modeling This is an ideal experience for a recent graduate who wants to learn techniques integrating modeling and experimental approaches. The candidate will work in an exciting environment with close proximity to other research groups with related work in neuromorphic VLSI and nonlinear dynamics applied to neurobiology. Salary is dependent on experience and on par with NIH scales. The position is for 2-4 years. Interested individuals should respond by email to rbutera@ece.gatech.edu with a CV and names of 3 references. US Mail address: R. J. Butera, Lab for Neuroengineering, IBB Room 3304, Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, GA 30332-0363; email rbutera@ece.gatech.edu. Applications will be accepted until position is filled. Georgia Tech is a EOE/Affirmative Action employer. About the lab. Dr. Butera's lab (http://www.neuro.gatech.edu/~rbutera) is part of the Laboratory of Neuroengineering at Georgia Tech (http://www.neuro.gatech.edu). Atlanta GA has a vibrant Neuroscience community, and members of our lab have collaborative efforts with other faculty at Emory University (R Calabrese, D Jaeger, R Nichols) as well as close proximity to Georgia State University. -- Robert Butera, Assistant Professor School of Electrical and Computer Engineering Laboratory for Neuroengineering Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, GA, 30332-0363 USA --> http://www.neuro.gatech.edu/~rbutera
