We have an immediate opening for a Postdoctoral Appointee. Key
responsibilities include: conducts commissioning activities for the
11-BM high-resolution and high-throughput synchrotron x-ray powder
diffractometer. Assists in collaborative research programs in materials
structure-property relationships in systems such as functional oxides
or molecular sieves.

Considerable knowledge and experience with synchrotron x-ray powder
diffraction instrumentation and their construction. Skill in
implementing precision instrumentation. Good experience with
crystallographic data analysis. Knowledge of materials science, x-ray
optics, and detectors. Understanding of x-ray scattering,
crystallographic symmetry and use of crystallographic software. Skill
in written and oral communication. A recent Ph.D. in materials science,
physics, or related field is required.
