We are seeking full time Post Doctoral Fellow(s) for their NIH funded
Asthma, Allergy and Immunology Program. The successful candidate(s)
will join an integrated and highly collaborative research team engaged
in examining novel mechanisms associated with airway allergic disease.
The funded projects involve examining (1) leukocyte adhesion in
allergic inflammation, (2) serotonin and serotonin receptors in
allergic asthma and (3) carbohydrate binding proteins and carbohydrate
processing enzymes in pathogenesis of allergic disease, airway
remodeling and angiogenesis. These projects will focus on examining the
function of leukocyte (eosinophil) generation (hematopoiesis),
trafficking and recruitment to sites of inflammation, modulation of
Th1/Th2 cytokines, role of adhesion molecules, cytokines and chemokines
in mediating leukocyte-endothelial trafficking in the lung
microcirculation, immune modulation and associated signal transduction
events in airway allergic disease.

Candidates must have an M.D., Ph.D. or equivalent degree with a
demonstrated record of innovation and excellence in immunology, cell
biology or pathology and an interest in developing further expertise in
the specific areas of focus described above. Experience with intravital
microscopy techniques and background in allergy and inflammation would
be an asset. The successful candidate must have a strong desire to
participate in collaborative research programs within and outside the
Institute. An interest in securing independent extramural post-doctoral
fellowship funding will be encouraged, but is not required.

Candidates should submit Curriculum Vitae preferably via email. Please
include a full list of publications, a statement of research interests
and career goals, and contact information for three references.
