This Australian government funded Cooperative Research
Centre, led by the University of Technology, Telectronics
Pacing Systems, Royal North Shore Hospital and CSIRO aims
to develop new techniques and devices for the detection
and management of coronary heart disease. Major research 
fields involve electrophysiology, muscle assist, haemodynamics,
vascular hyperplasia, biomaterials and electrodes. Potential
product areas include implantable defibrillators, muscle
wrap techniques, electrodes and heart attack detector.

This position (located at the University's St Leonards Campus)
is within a multidisciplinary team investigating methods to
improve success of cardiac electrical defibrillation.
Applications are invited from doctorates in physiology,
biomedical engineering, biomedical physics, or equivalent,
to conduct experimental physiological studies to further our
understanding of the mechanism of electrical defibrillation.
Established and developing skills and facilities in the team
include in-vitro and in-vivo, acute and chronic physiological
laboratories, microelectrode and MAP optical recording systems
and advanced data acquisition, graphics and networked 
computer facilities.

SALARY RANGE ($AUS) :

$28,700 - $38,950 pa (Associate Lecturer Level)
$41,000 - $48,688 pa (Lecturer Level)
$50,225 - $57,913 pa (Senior Lecturer Level)

Appointment will be made at one of the above 3 levels depending
upon qualifications and experience.
