He is a neurobiologist from Russia, temporarily working in Israel. He is
looking for a job in the US, starting in January or thereabouts.

                             Alexander Gorodinsky

Qualifications:	Extensive experience and deep understanding of biochemistry
--------------- and immunochemistry of central nervous system. Skillful in
modern laboratory techniques including all modifications of
ligand binding, chromatographic and gel electrophoresis
methods, ELISA, immunoblott analysis. Expertize in molecular
mechanisms of synaptic neurotransmission in normal and
affected by CNS diseases human brain. Wide background in
computer-assisted processing of ligand binding and
immunochemical experiments data. Field of special interest
and competence is biochemistry, physiology and evolution of
chemoreceptors with major accomplishment in the area of CNS
                glutamate receptors structure and functions.

Experience:
-----------
1991-present	The Weizmann Institute of Science, Rehovot, Israel.
                Visiting scientist, Neurobiological Department.

Conduct experimental research of CNS excitatory amino acid
receptors including pharmacological characterization of NMDA,
quisqualate and kainate receptors within the same synaptic
membrane preparation. Perform microinjections of cDNA of
chicken kainate receptor in frog oocytes and investigate its
functional expression by means of biochemical
                electrophysiological technique.

1985-1991 Institute of the Human Brain, Academy of Sciences of Russia,
                St.Petersburg, Russia.
                Laboratory of Molecular Neurobiology.

1988 - 1991 Senior research associate.
1985 - 1988 Research associate.

                Performed isolation, biochemical, pharmacological and
immunochemical investigation of the human brain glutamate
receptor properties and its involvement in CNS pathology. Used
several model systems for study of possible pathways of
excitatory amino acid receptors evolution. Investigated the
possibilities of immunodiagnostics of central nervous system
                diseases.

This research resulted in isolation of the purified
                glutamate-binding receptor protein, functionally associated
with human brain glutamate receptors of quisqualate type,
production of polyclonal antiserum and monoclonal antibodies
against this protein and its immunochemical localization in
normal and epileptic brain. The new method for epilepsy
immunodiagnostics was designed (the patents of Russia and
                Germany are filed).

Supervised work of two M.D. and two Ph.D. students and
consulted the clinical department of IHB.

1978 - 1980 Sechenov Institute of Evolutionary Physiology and Biochemistry,
Academy of Sciences of Russia, St.Petersburg, Russia.
Research associate, Laboratory of Sensory Receptorchemistry.

Investigated the role of individual proteins in the pheromone
                reception in invertebrates.

Performed the comparative analysis of protein composition of
chemoreceptive organs in males and females of cockroaches and
                crayfishes.
Education:
----------
1975 M.S. Biophysics, St.Petersburg Polytechnic Institute,
                St.Petersburg, Russia.
1985 Ph.D. Biochemistry, Institute for Experimental Medicine,
                St.Petersburg, Russia.

Research on the glutamate receptors of rat CNS.
Ph.D. thesis subject: "Functional regulation of the central
                nervous system glutamate receptors".

Fellowships: 1991 International Brain Research Organization (IBRO)
------------ fellowship.

Patents: Method for epilepsy immunodiagnostics (applications fot
-------- patents of Russia and Germany are filed).

Method for glutamate-binding membrane protein isolation
(patent of Russia is granted in 1985).

Publications: 20 publications, including papers in professional journals,
