National Research Council postdoctoral associateships are
available at the Flight Psychophysiology Laboratory of the Air
Force Armstrong Laboratory, Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio. 
The research emphasis is on using electrophysiological
measures to understand and predict operator states such as
mental workload and situation awareness in complex
environments.  EEG topography (60 channels), heart rate,
blinks and respiration are collected while operators perform
complex laboratory, simulator and flight tasks.  Individuals
with a background in EEG topography and classification
procedures such as neural nets and discriminant analysis are
especially encouraged to apply.  Applicants should have received their
doctoral degree within the past five years.  The NRC positions
are for one year with a possible second year extension.
