I just got a brochure on a pair of free online resources
called FEDIX and MOLIS that are sponsored by participating 
Federal agencies.  Herewith the straight text, which I'll
post from time to time, possibly integrating it with my
blurb on NTIS FedWorld.  Forward or post as you wish (I've
tried to steer clear of moderated groups).

Note that I don't regularly read most of the crossposted 
groups, so followup to sci.research exclusively and steer 
flames about appropriateness to me by e-mail (after reading 
the contents, please; it might be more relevant than it 
first appears).  

Note also that I'm just passing the information along and can't 
answer technical or administrative questions about how to use 
these services or what is placed on them.  A helpline number is
given below.

FEDIX/MOLIS is compatible with most computers and telecommunications
software.  Set your modem parameters to: '8' data bits, '1' stop bit,
and 'N' parity at 1200, 2400 or 9600 baud.

Internet: Telnet or Gopher to FEDIX/MOLIS at: fedix.fie.com or
192.111.228.33

Hours:  Available 24 hours a day.  A helpline, (301) 975-0103,
is available weekdays between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Eastern
Standard Time [UT +7] except Federal holidays.

Costs: Free, no cost to users.  No telephone, registration, access,
or downloading fees.
