This lab works on the biochemistry and regulation of
V(D)J recombination, the recombinatorial process that
assembles intact immunoglobulin and T cell receptor
coding regions in vertebrates. The main focus is on
analysis of new activities of the recombinase protein
RAG1. Familiarity with transposition/integration systems
and/or ubiquitin conjugation is a plus. Experience with
protein expression and purification or mammalian cell
culture desirable. Several projects are available to
tailor to the experience and interests of the applicant.
