------------------- Postdoctoral position as posted on Postdoc Jobs website: http://www.PostdocJobs.com ------------------- A postdoctoral position is available immediately to characterize transcription factors involved in tissue specification in the marine invertebrate chordate, Ciona intestinalis. The projects will focus on unraveling the gene regulatory networks involved in development and differentiation of the notochord. Tissue-specific transcription factors involved in establishing tissue identities will be analyzed. The projects will also involve in vivo experiments, e.g. targeted silencing of the genes of interest and analysis of the resultant phenotypes. Candidates should have a Ph.D. and a documented experience in molecular biology, with a particular emphasis on the isolation of DNA-binding proteins. A basic background in developmental and evolutionary biology and good communication skills are highly desirable. The initial appointment is for one year, renewable. Interested candidates should send a curriculum vitae, a brief summary of research experience and interests, and names of three references.
