We are seeking a talented postdoctoral scientist for an innovative
research project in the Department of Bioinformatics, Genetics and
Genomics at Hoffman-La Roche Inc. in Nutley, NJ. The scientist will
join an exciting collaboration between in-house scientists and leading
academic researchers in the U.S. and China to employ cutting edge
genomic tools in identifying genetic loci that regulate the clinical
manifestations of Type II Diabetes and obesity.

Working closely with experts in polymorphism discovery and genotyping,
computational biology and statistical analysis, the successful
candidate will work with a novel, high-throughput SNP genotyping
system. She or he will assist with assay design, protocol development,
data handling, genetic analysis, and the transfer of data to and from
researchers at collaborating medical centers.

We are eager to hear from highly motivated individuals with a doctoral
degree and a strong background in the genetics of complex disease,
wet-lab genomics, or metabolic diseases. Demonstrated enthusiasm and
initiative, effective communication skills, and the proven ability to
work well in a team environment are important.
