-------------------- Post-doctoral position as posted on Postdoc Jobs website: http://www.PostdocJobs.com -------------------- A position is available immediately at the Division of Infectious Diseases (University of British Columbia) to study the molecular mechanisms of mycobacterial pathogenesis. The research program is focused on the identification and molecular characterization of microbial virulence determinants and their mechanisms of action using in vitro cell culture models. The successful candidate will develop independent strategies to identify mycobacterial factors that inhibit maturation of phagosome and interfere with MHC class II-directed antigen presentation. Motivated candidates with a Ph.D. or equivalent and a strong background in cell and molecular biology are encouraged to apply. Experience in mycobacteriology and immunology would also be desirable. Applicants should send their curriculum vitae, contact information for three references, and a brief statement of research interest to us.
