Electric Cars will need a 5 KILOWATT Engine (2 AIRCONDITIONERS WORTH OF POWER) NOT a 100KW ENGINE (50 AIRCONDITIONERS POWER) My $5,000 Solar System (not subsidised) wouldn't power a V8 for more than 20 seconds a day. You'd need an ACRE OF SOLAR PANELS to charge up a V8 Holden. HYBRID CARS ARE A PUBLICITY STUNT! The petrol engine drives the electric engine! The battery is just a buffer between the 2, they don't run on their own electric power. G. At higher speeds, wind resistance is a major factor, and won't be changed by making the vehicle lighter. Sylvia.

BTW, how much coal is burned in an > electrical grid to charge up these faggotmobiles? I don't know, probably on par with the same weight in petrol. But for 60km/hour travel 40 minutes per day 100kg passengers, a 80% lighter car would only need about 200cc equivalent, so about 20 times less resource usage and pollution than current tech, and within the realms of home solar systems.
