I'm sure everything is not normal, but not sure what is normal and what is not...

Well, *that's* pretty normal.

Well, almost.

When news posts don't appear and they are the ones including URLs for WL,
while other news posts do appear, the inference is that suppressions is taking
place.

This I can tell you. Since rot13 is a command on many newsreaders
you can assume echelon automatically searches everything in
that form as well as plain text. The great [one whose name
can't be written, even in pig Latin!] did it, too.

I've seen this happen before, during the run-up to GWII. But even then
you could go to the "control" group and find delete messages forging
your name.

Andre Rieu, Chris Mitchell, Darryl Somers, Sarah Palin or Julian Assange?

Wasn't aware of suppression leading to GW2, but would believe.

However, this round is about diplomatic gossip! I know what they gossip about,
and it's not much different from (good) pub gossip, and is a reasonable reflection
of reality - not confirmed as truth, but reasonable, not validated, but what the
parties are probably using to make their decisions. Certainly stronger intelligence
that "weapons of mass destruction", which _apparently_ was the justification
for GW2.

What WL adds beyond the gossip, is the source of the gossip and some cred
about the content (because of source). Eg, if Hilary or Rice mumbled it,
it doesn't make it true, but it makes it a loud part of the game.

Assange - he speaks my language. Oz. and some truth.

Rot 13 - haven't seen that in years. Is it in Thunderbird?

It's a bit bizarre and even quaint. OE Help says:

You cannot scramble messages and post them in Outlook Express,
but if someone has posted a scrambled message to a newsgroup
(using ROT13), you can unscramble it in Outlook Express and
make it readable.

Which of course is plainly wrong, because I was able to do it (by tricking OE).
