He takes the lower paying job because he vincent> can't get a higher paying one (usually)......geez My, what a narrow view of reality we have. The only reason people work at a given job is because it maximizes their profits. You should read some Adam Smith. Enlightened self-interest is not "maximize your profit" but do what you choose to do within the constraint of self-preservation. I guess your view is the one with the most toys wins. In fact, the one with the most toys dies as does the one with nothing. Materialism seems so shallow when put in that light. vincent> 2. companies dont try to go out and hire as many people as possible vincent> they hire as many people as they a) need and b) can afford vincent> unless they NEED persons C,D, and E tey wont hire them...etc Economics 101. Companies will hire to the point of zero marginal return. If A is worth $60000 but takes on $20000, they can hire B and C and still have a marginal return on the additional hires. vincent> In the system as it stands, the person who contributes least gets vincent> more of the benefits of our government Hmm, I guess all those capital gains exemptions really benefit those poor capitalists. vincent> the gov shurely isn't run like a business... Blame Shouldn't there be a shorter word | the barbarian, not his justification for for the concept "monosyllabic". | his acts.
