: simply because it's human to create a power structure for anything that : affects a large enough group of people (case in point: this group and His : Royally Screwed Up Majesty King Stu :-)), and those who have power are : easily : corrupted by it into leaving most of what they have to distribute for : themselves. Thank you for proving my point as to why capitalism, and selfishness is the best way to lead a society. I love power, and I plan on corrupting it for my own good. When I stumble upon something that can make me money, I plan on selling it to every person on the face of the earth. Do you think Henry Ford was trying to build an automobile for the good of the United States? He developed the Model-A, and all subsequent models FOR HIS OWN PROFIT. On the side, civilization advanced from a new transportation source, high wages (brought on by the develepment of the assembly line - Ford realized that the only way people could by his automobiles was by providing them a well-paying job thatcarried a lot of disposable income), and, most of all, CREDIT. In competiton with Ford, General Motors introduced a new way to deal with credit. The reason GM is more profitable than Ford, right from the beginning wa sbecause the gave their customers a chance to pay in instalments, making it much easier to purchase high-priced luxuries. I think it's safe to say that 90%+ of all cars today are bought on some sort of financing plan. I want power. I want money. You see, the only way I can be successful is to provide a new service to the public.....
