A New York Times article this morning said that the Shuttle seemed
to have gone up for an unusually long length of time before rolling; I don't
know what their source was, since the launch looked about like this to me:
PA Officer: T - 10, 9,
[main engines start here]
PAO: 8, 7, 6, 5,
[SRB ignition and liftoff]
Launch Director: Roll program.
Creighton: Roger, roll.
Launch Director: And the Shuttle has cleared the tower.
CAPCOM: Houston now controlling...
(OK, I exaggerated a bit, but I don't know who could have called that a LATE
roll... Any comments?)
