Charles, EVENINGS - WATCH STRAIGHT UP! EVENING PASSES - the ISS and Shuttle aren't visible until the sun's light is reflected back at you. This doesn't occur when they rise above the horizon, but ONLY when they are overhead and moving towards the setting horizon. They are brightest as they set. MORNING PASSES - they can be fully illuminated as they rise, as the sun is behind you and the sun's light is being reflected back at you. They are brightest as they rise and fade as they set. If you can see Capella, Sirius or Jupiter, you should be able to see the ISS and Shuttle. Good Luck!!
