CSDC will host its fifth regional conference, California Space Development Conference V, this fall, October 20-22, in Lake Tahoe. Registration is $60 to September 15, $75 at the door. A highlight of last year's conference in Big Bear was a Mars Colony Expedition Design Exercise moderated by Scott Beach of the Sacramento Space Frontier Society and Terry Savage of OASIS. The exercise started with how large the first wave should be, asked how would the colony grow for the first 20, 50 and 100 years and examined the social and family structures that would be needed. To register, send your check made out to "California Space Development Council" to: CSDC Conference 4009 Everett Ave. Oakland CA 94602 The California Space Development Council consists of the following chapters of the National Space Society: OASIS (LA/OC), Golden Gate (Oakland), San Francisco, Sacramento and Western Spaceport (Vandenburg). -- ==================================================================== ARPA: cew@venera.isi.edu PHONE: (213)822-1511 ext. 111 USPS: USC Information Sciences Institute 4676 Admiralty Way, Suite 1100 Marina del Rey, CA 90292 Slogan: "nemo me impune lacessit" ====================================================================
