CRYSTALLOGRAPHY The NIH Crystallography Consortium, in collaboration with the Albert Einstein College of Medicine Center for Synchrotron Biosciences, will be reconstructing the X9B beamline at the National Synchrotron Light Sources for the purpose of optimizing it for protein crystallography. The beamline will serve scientists from both institutions as well as general users. SAIC Frederick, a division of Science Applications International Corporation and an employee-owned company, is coordinating this research effort at Brookhaven National Labs in New York. Primary responsibilities involve the construction and maintenance of the beamline and providing assistance to NIH users; however, a limited program of original research will be encouraged. Duration of project - 3 years with renewal contingent upon continuing program requirements and funding specifically for this project. We are seeking individuals with the following credentials: SCIENTIST: Ph.D. in crystallography, physics, chemistry or engineering with working knowledge of x-ray instrumentation, computing, electronics, and protein crystallography. TECHNICIAN: MS/BS in mechanical/electrical engineering, electronics or computing with 5 years of related working experience. SAIC Frederick offers an attractive salary and fringe benefits program, including insurances, 401(k) savings plan, stock purchase plan, relocation assistance, and more.
