In both cases you'd turn into Holyrood Park. I turn off at the Parliament. Once you are left past the Parliament and heading up towards the Cowgate on Holyrood Road, you have two major junctions between you and Lothian Road. If I'm heading towards Polwarth, I keep going to Fountainbridge. Your way you keep going round the Park and have to negotiate the streets at the Commie Pool with a number of lights to go through (4?). Then at the end of the Meadows there are more junctions. >> Actually it is, at least when I use it once a week on a Thursday >> evening. It probably isn't so good during rush hour. > > > I was thinking more of the nature of the road itself than how busy it > was; narrow lanes, blind bends, a large number of junctions (and > frequently covered in scaffolding at the east end) combine to make it a > lesser choice by car. And therefore more fun to drive, IMO. TTH
