As the Area 10 governor of Toastmasters, I have two clubs seeking new locations. Both have been dinner clubs and have had membership problems stemming from the fact that the International House of Pancakes' minimum order of $4.50 (plus tax and gratuity) keeps people away. I've been trying to find a restaurant to keep these clubs as dinner clubs (one of the clubs is currently out of the IHOP and seeking another location after the interim location didn't work out) which serves dinner but would not charge for the room and would not require everyone to place an order. Other criteria include a separate room for meetings and a restaurant closing time of no earlier than 8:30. Prices close to those of the IHOP or similar family restarants are also highly desired. Less important, but preferential, is a variety of foods and proximity to the Clairemont area - but we're willing to stray a few miles in any direction if the restaurant conditions are otherwise acceptable (for instance, Brothers' Family Restaurant on Waring Road fit the criteria except that it closes at 8:00 p.m.). Let me know if anyone has any suggestions. Joe Naiman
