One San Diego place I thought about recommending, but hesitated because I
didn't know whether they were still around, was the Salmon House out near
Mission Bay. Years ago, they had great mesquite-smoked salmon and other
good stuff, before mesquite and other (non-hickory) woods became the
rage. "Alaskan Indian" motif, very agreeable service and ambience, as I
recall...

Is it still in business. and if so, is it still a decent place to eat?

Oh yeah, and how about Hamburguesa in Old Town? Are they still dishing
out the artery busters and margaritas, or have they succumbed to soy-
burgers and spring water?

Cheers,

Bob Moroney
