Ashoka and Star of India are supposedly both north Indian food. I couldn't tell you off hand what the difference is, though. I like Star of India better, even though it is a bit more moneyt than Ashoka. Both are excellent. A good bargain is the buffet specials -- give them a call. Govinda's in Hillcrest used to have buffet Indian dinners on Friday nights. It was about $6 for students. --Matt
