Did it ever occur to you that not everyone can afford to move from where 
they are?  If one loses one's job, sometimes one has to take whatever job 
is available.  Not everyone is in the same position to find a job right 
around the corner or to mover closer to where they work.

And how would this work for substitute teachers who drive all over the 
place every day?  Or for repair people, installation reps, etc.? There 
are millions of people for whom the drive to one place in the morning and 
stay there all day routine is not reality.
