>What is the PROOF that driving 3 miles is a "leading cause for global >warming"? Where is your PROOF that there is ANY global warming? I'll tell you what, roll down the window in your car, sniff the air and tell me what you smell. Do you smell the sweet and refreshing air from the nearby trees, flowers, and other vegetation, or do you smell the exauste from the car in front of you. Imagine, 1 billion cars driving in one day. Do you think that a billion cars will be able to operate without any bad effects on the environment? Asking for proof is like the FDA refusing to accept the healing properties of an herb which has been used in China for over 2000 years successfully simply because the herb hasn't been tested in a lab on rats. It doesn't seem significant for me to argue wether or not there is global warming. Rather than wasting my time, all I have to do is to look out of the window at that big brown cloud hanging over San Jose and wonder, do we really need this? >What makes China a "leading" country? How about Germany and Japan? Ok, I have to admitt, the US is #1!! :) We are the leading polluters. No other country comes close to us in the amount that we consume, pollute, and destroy. Does it make you proud to live in the leading polluting country? There are many different ways in understanding the term "to lead." Germany and Japan lead the US by having a well advanced and effective transportation, while China leads by having more people and polluting much less. I'm afraid, however, that China is going to become more of an environmental destroyer like it's big brother America. >What specifically is it about China that is so better than the US that we >NEED to emulate? How many times have you been to China? How many protests >against the government have you participated in China? > >
