The problem with batteries is that they store the complete chemical reaction. The better you make the battery, the more violent its destruction will be. Lithium batteries already have a good enough power/weight ratio to violently explode when damaged. Fuel cells or radical new hybrid designs are more likely to come along first. Fuel cells work like a battery but half of their chemical energy comes from air. Some busses are already running off fuel cells. They should appear be in more cars once the manufacturing is figured out. (The fuel cell busses look cool. They have a tailpipe just like normal buses but they blow out pure white steam.) >Net wrote: >> >> What are the current rates in the area and is the shortage problem near >> resolution? >> >> Sent via Deja.com >> http://www.deja.com/
