Star Trek: Deep Space 9 - local time slot for series?

Now that the Star Trek: Deep Space 9 premiere has come and gone, when will
the regular series be shown in San Diego? TV Guide for next week does not
show it at 8 PM Monday (nor at any time on any evening next week, in fact,
unless I missed it).

The ads aired during the 2-hour premiere indicated that the next
episode will be shown on Saturday, January 16th (7 pm?). That's 11
days from now. Why do they have to wait so long? Beats me...

My monthly cable guide shows Fox channel 6 on Saturdays from 7:00PM to
8:00PM as the regular time slot for ST:DS9 (rebroadcast the next day
at 11:00PM). This is the current slot for ST:TNG, which will be moved
to Saturday from 10:00PM to 11:00PM (I haven't found the rebroadcast
slot).

According to my source at XETV Channel 6 (my wife :-), Deep Space 9 will air
Saturday's at 7:00p starting Jan 16. The rebroadcast will air Sunday's at
11:00p. The new episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation will move to
Saturday's at 6:00p and will be re-broadcast on Sunday's at 12:00a.

As near as I can tell, ST:DS9 is a spin-off of ST:TNG and will run concurrently
with ST:TNG after taking over the latter's current time slots. Right now, the
10-11P slot on Saturdays (Fox channel 6) plays re-runs of ST:TNG, but from the
sounds of things this will become the slot for current episodes of ST:TNG? I
like the idea of having two different ST episodes to see every week. They
wouldn't dare take ST:TNG away from us, would they?

As an aside, all you ST:TNG fans should try to get your hands on a copy of the
book or audio cassette called "Imzadi"... a fantastic story explaining the long
and lustful relationship between Deanna Troi and Will Riker. If you caught
last night's re-run of "Encounter at Far Point" (the pilot for ST:TNG) you got
a brief piece of the puzzle when Riker and Troi were introduced to each other
by Capt. Picard.

I don't suppose they could be talked into bringing back Mighty Mouse
on Saturdays instead of, say, Super Dave?

Yeah, I know, it's a network thing. But they haven't shown "Don't
Touch That Dial" yet.
