Hello!  Welcome to the new sdnet.rideshare bulletin board.

If you are looking for:
	someone to car pool with to Escondido,
	someone to ride with you to Barstow (and share gas expenses),
	a ride to Iguana's,
	someone to join you on a two-for-the-price-of-one airfare to Seattle,
	...
then this is the place to post it!

Hopefully this group will help reduce your cost of traveling and the amount of time you spend behind the wheel.  Hopefully it will also contribute to reducing the freeway traffic jams and the amount of gasoline we turn into exhaust each day by reducing the number of underpopulated cars on the road.  


A couple of suggestions:

1. Try to make it easy for other users to scan the newsgroup by putting the
   salient information in the subject line.  For example,
	Ride wanted to Santa Barbara 10/31
	RT available to Bishop  10/29x10/31
	Car pool to Cardiff

2. If don't want to subscribe because you don't anticipate looking for rideshare
   partners frequently, you can still use the newsgroup by posting your needs
   and reading the group only when you are looking for a partner.


What can you do besides looking for rides and/or people to occupy your half-empty automobile?  Tell your friends about sdnet.rideshare.  The more people use the newsgroup, the better it will work.
