Distributing Ada Programs on Loosely Coupled Systems
(TRI-Ada `92 Presentation)
There are many different approaches toward distributing Ada in a
multiprocessor system in Ada 83. The central issue in each of these
approaches is the choice for the "unit of distribution". The choices for
the unit of distribution will be reviewed, as well as the advantages and
disadvantages associated with those choices.
Ada 9X will provide support for distributing Ada programs. Although this
area of the proposed standard is still not finalized, the current state of
the standard will be presented.
TeleSoft has been developing tools and programming conventions to ease the
creation of distributed applications. The features provided by these
tools will be demonstrated.
Guest Speaker:
Tom Burger is a Principal Software Engineer in TeleSoft's Advanced
Development Group. Mr. Burger is the technical lead for Tasking Runtime
and Distributed Ada projects. Other activities include participation in
TeleSoft's Ada 9X implementation and membership in SIGAda and ARTEWG.
