Down the Hall or Around the Globe -- Relish Information Where You Want It
April 19, 1996, Seal Beach, CA -- At IBM's Technical Interchange in
Nashville next week, Sundial Systems Corporation will be showing the first
"technology demonstration" of Relish Web -- the next generation client for
its Relish family of time and information management products.
When used with any compatible browser, on any platform, Relish Web provides
access to Relish information stored on an OS/2-based web server. This
access is fully-bidirectional: all Relish notes can be viewed and updated
(subject to privacy restrictions) and new entries added, either for your
own use or for other Relish Net users on your local network.
All Calendar, To Do List, Phone Book, and other traditional Relish views
are supported. Where desired, the HTML definitions used to present these
views may be customized and/or included within other Web page designs.
Updates and additions made through Relish Web are immediately reflected in
the Relish database on the server as well as in any relevant Relish views
which are open on the server's desktop. And, when used with Relish Net,
the changes are instantly propagated, wherever necessary, to the desktops
of different Relish users around the Lan as well.
Relish Web is the perfect solution for Web-based publishing of:
* corporate (or personal) phone books
* calendars of events
* meeting room schedules
It also acts as an extension of a local Relish or Relish Net
installation
by providing:
* convenient access while away from your desk (down the hall)
* mobile access while on the road (around the globe)
* both intranet and internet access depending on your needs
The availability and pricing announcement for Relish Web is planned for
June 1996.
Relish Web clients only require a compatible Web browser (such as IBM's Web
Explorer or Netscape Navigator) and web access to the Relish Web server --
no client software or installation is required.
Relish Web servers must be running OS/2 and any compatible Web server (such
as IBM's Internet Connection Server or the Apache Web Server) with CGI
script capability enabled. Relish or Relish Net, along with the Relish Web
server software, must also be installed.
The Relish Web technology demonstration will be part of Sundial's booth,
409, on the exhibit hall floor in Nashville. Sundial will also be showing:
* an upcoming maintenance release of Relish and Relish Net 2.2
* a preview of Version 1.7 of the Clearlook Word Processor
(the first release of the product to be published by Sundial)
* another surprise technology demonstration
For further information on any of Sundial's products, call 310-596-5121 or
send your request to either relish@ibm.net or clearlook@ibm.net.
