UPDATED 0S/2 AND MESSAGES AND CODES ONLINE LIBRARIES ON CD-ROM NOW
AVAILABLE
January 30, 1996
The ID Softcopy Center of Poughkeepsie announces the availability of
updates to the OS/2* and Messages and Codes online library collections.
These convenient and cost-effective CD-ROM collections can help maximize
valuable resources---time, space, and information.
The December 1995 edition of the following online library collection is
now available:
-- OS/2, SK2T-2176-05, which spans two discs, contains over 550
unlicensed online books for more than 150 OS/2 products. It
includes books for OS/2 Warp Version 3 as well as "red books" (ITSO
technical bulletins) dealing with OS/2 LAN systems, OS/2 object
technology and the OS/2 2.0 technical compendium.
The January 1996 edition of the following online library collection is
now available:
-- Messages and Codes Online Library Productivity Edition,
SK2T-2068-09, which spans two discs, includes over 550 online
(softcopy) books in English from the AIX*, MVS, VM and VSE
product libraries that contain messages and codes, regardless of
the type of book. Using this collection, a large number of books
can be put online and accessed without handling individual sets
of books and libraries on many CD-ROMs and tapes. It also includes
the IBM* Online Message Facility (OMF) for displaying explanations
MVS, VM and VSE host messages in an OS/2 window.
These are Online Library collections with books formatted for
display using BookManager* BUILD. They can be viewed with the
BookManager READ/2, READ for Windows**, READ/DOS, READ/MVS, READ/VM,
and READ/6000 licensed programs and with the BookManager Library
Reader/2, Library Reader* for Windows and Library Reader/DOS.
Today more information is accessible right at one's fingertips using
IBM's online library collections. Most of these collections are updated
each quarter. As new product books are released or when books are
updated, they are included in the next regular update of the
collections.
In the U.S., to order a single update or an ongoing SLSS subscription of
online library collections through normal publication ordering channels,
use the order number of the collection (for example, SK2T-2176 for the
OS/2 collection). Call the IBM toll-free number 1+800+879-2755, use
IBMLink* or contact an IBM representative.
To order a one year's subscription of these collections as a
feature of the IBM Library Offering product, 5636-PUB, contact an IBM
representative or the IBM toll-free number. When ordering, specify the
program number 5636-PUB and both the billing feature code and
associated medium specify code for the collection wanted (for example,
for OS/2, specify billing feature code 2013 and associated code 5013;
for Messages and Codes, specify 2033 and 5033). The program number and
feature codes for all online library collections are listed in a file
named CKITLIST.TXT that is included on all CD-ROMs containing IBM online
books, or the feature code information can be obtained from HONE.
In other countries, to order online library collections, use
the ordering systems normally used to order IBM hardcopy publications
or software feature codes (specify the appropriate order number or
feature codes listed above). If unsure of how to order publications
in a specific country, send a note to the IBM BOOKSHOP service at
one of the following:
o Internet - bookshop@dk.ibm.com
o IBM Mail Exchange - DKIBMSH at IBMMAIL
o OfficeVision* - BOOKSHOP at DKIBMVM1
Inquiries from customers will automatically be forwarded to the
publications center or literature coordinator for that country.
IBM personnel will receive a file from the BOOKSHOP User ID with
instructions for placing orders using IBM internal systems.
Online library collections can also be ordered by using IBMLink or by
contacting an IBM representative.
For specific questions or customer feedback on the IBM Online
Library or for more information about the collections, contact the
Softcopy Center at one of the following:
o OfficeVision - MHVRCFS at KGNVMC
o FAX - International Access Code+1+914+432+9405 or tie line 292-9405
