"And that ain't the half of it," said Kari Jackson, InnoVal OS/2
Product Engineer. Kari Jackson was the beta administrator for Version
2 of the Post Road Mailer in which over 850 people participated in a
six week beta program.

In a letter to all customers, Chuck Kowarz, InnoVal Vice President,
highlighted some of the major enhancements:

o The folder architecture has been completely redesigned. Each folder is a
subdirectory now, instead of being one data file and one index file. Each
note is a separate file now, in folders as in inbaskets. The ramifications
are enormous. This new design means that many aspects of folder management
occur much faster than before. It means that we have nested folders and
subfolders. It means that anything you can do to a note in the inbasket
can also be done to a note in a folder.

o Both inbaskets and folders can be kept outside the Post Road Mailer's home
directory, wherever you wish to put them. An inbasket can use a folder in
    any other inbasket.

o A great many things have been done to make the Post Road Mailer easier for
keyboard users to use. More menu items have hotkeys, more window
containers have focus so that you can use your arrow keys to select them
without clicking on the container with your mouse.

o The note view window has previous-note, next-note, and delete-and-next
mouse buttons in the lower right-hand corner.

o Signature blocks can contain the current date and time.

o Random taglines are now supported and you can override the selection and
select a tagline from your own file of favorite tags.

o Preview Mail. This is a powerful feature. You can preview the mail in a
POP3 server, selectively download notes or selectively delete notes and
    files.

o Folder windows now have columns for both the To: address and the From:
address, so it's much less confusing to keep notes you've sent in the same
    folders with notes you've received.

o Inbasket performance on mail refresh has been significantly improved and
    new features have been added.

o Sticky notes may now be attached to notes in your inbasket or in a folder.
Follow-up dates can be included in sticky notes as date reminders for some
action you may wish to take. You can search for notes that have follow-up
    dates.

o The action pad can be turned off for additional room in your inbasket.

o Both MIME and UUencoded attachments are supported for inbound and outbound
mail. A utility has been provided to allow you to send files over the
internet from an OS/2 command prompt.

o Five compose windows can be opened at once. This allows you to be working
    on different replies concurrently.

o Mood icons. You can now set a filter option to replace the envelope icon
of the inbasket for selected notes based on content or header information
. This is a very useful visual clue for important mail. You can also
attach a mood icon to an outgoing note.

o The search engine, to search the contents of all notes in an inbasket and
any or all folders you specify and bring up a results folder containing
pointers to every note which contains that string.

o Redesigned compose window. Your choice of a single window, or the new
two-window format. Either way, the right margin of your text is determined
by the width of your Text window, so that window is never wasting more of
your Desktop space than it needs to.

o Integration with a soon-to-be-release version FaxWorks Pro and PMFax will
allow you to send faxes via the Internet and to forward computer-received
    faxes to your inbasket.

The Post Road Mailer is available from various resellers including Below Zero,
