To all interested,
Its long, but bear with it. Nothing personal, but i just had
to get it off my chest, its been too long. Too bad i couldn't
express myself any better than this.......Aaaaarrrggghhh!!!!

I bought an ARIS computer system about 5 months ago, and it
was an EXPERIENCE indeed!
Why? Well, here's why,
*Used their phone-booking delivery service, but they were
unable to deilver on that specific booked date. Fine, but at
least they could have informed me earlier, rather than on the
day the computer was supposed to be delivered. And i had to
apply for a day off, what a waste of time! Finally it came,
one month later.
*Wow, pentium 100 power! Yeah right, on the second week, due
to some weird power processing i already had to call a
technician to my place, who efficiently told me that i had a
one-in-a-few-thousand FAULTY motherboard.What a buy!
*Two and a half weeks later(after much calls), my use-to-be
brand new shiny system came back to me, with a few dirty
smudges. But hey,i was desperate after missing my $3,619.43
for about.......hey was it 2 months already!
*Finally, time to wreck havoc....wait, what happen to my 512KB
L2 cache, how did it shrink to 256KB. Oops, back to the drawing
boa..-ie, the telephone to customer services. They really are
efficient you know.
*FINALLY, after my upgrade to the orignal cache size. I am
going to slap leather and rock......hey! Something's happening!
Why is my system unable to boot up! Why is it stuck accessing
the floppy, why is it hanging halfway through mid-sequence, how
come the harddisk is not being accessed,......etc? Its like
one minute its up, then the next NOT! Hey,wait.... yes....its
working again...and its NOT!...again and not!...again and not!
*This condition being an on-&-off affair, days in between these
problem, i was at a loss. Do i want to send my system back for
repairs, but what to repair. Its working alright, it only happens
once in a while. Still it's a fault, but then how long will i
get my system back. Between the purchasing date (with all the
problems arising in between) till this fault was discovered,
was about 3-4 months and i hardly did anything with it.
Besides will they replace my motherboard again, and any guarantee
this time no problems?
*Do i TRUST them? Can i probably return this system and get
a refund to buy another?
*Just the other day (2nd Feb), my friend told me he had a bad
sector in his harddisk in his 5-month old ARIS computer system.
And EFFICENTLY informed that 2 weeks to replace. But its only
a small 3 1/2 inch size harddisk...well, tough luck. Which is
what that prompted me to post this article. Me, not
surprised, my harddisk crashed once, thankfully only once,
hopefully none in the future.
*Well heck, i don't have time for all these problems. So live
with it.....and i did with much frustration & fear in that my
system might not boot one day when i push the button.
