CDMARC Bibliographic

Is anybody using this? My question, which nobody that I can reach at
the Library of Congress can answer, is simple: can I give the program
a file and let it spit back records? I don't want to try to update our
database a record at a time by hand. I can easily print out a list of
all of our books by ISBN number, which I'd like to feed to CDMARC. The
sample disks that I got doesn't demonstrate a whole lot, and it doesn't
have the phone number for the "friendly expert support" on the
"800-number customer hotline". The people I've reached are friendly
enough, but decidedly inexpert.

I suspect, of course, that the answer to my question is "no". I talked
to somebody from Online Computer Systems (the people who wrote the
software and also "Books In Print" on CD-ROM) and he seemed to think
that their way was the only way of doing things. And that includes a
decided indifference towards talking to other programs and databases.

Does CDMARC Bibliographic have a limit on the number of books you can
export? With "Books In Print" you can only select and print 200 books
at a time, but if there wasn't a limit, CDMARC could at least be used to
dump all books published by Addison-Wesley in 1992 to a file, which our
database could then read. Then all books by Prentice-Hall in 1992 ...
then all books by ... sigh.

Thanks!
