I am considering purchasing a uPVC door since mine is rotting (including frame). I have spoken to two salespersons. Both sell uPVC doors (useful since I want to buy one). One of the differences in their products is that one contains boxed aluminum and the other boxed galvanised steel. It resides in a main cavity of the multi-cavity uPVC door. What I would like to know is if one is better than the other. If a hole is made in the metal through the uPVC then: (1) the steel salesman says the aluminum will turn to powder over a period of time. (2) the aluminum salesman says the steel will rust. Both say, predictably, that their product can cope with having holes made into the metal. Advice and comments would be welcome. Thanks in advance. ============================================================= Sukhvinder Aujla Tel: 0473 647640 Address: G61 B81, BT Labs, Marltelsham Heath, Ipswich IP5 7RE email: saujla@axion.bt.co.uk
