Most people prefer a single-family residence in suburbia.

No.  Sorry.  Race relations are better in the Southeast than in Northern cities.

Yes.  They've also done more to cure overcrowding and replace substandard older
housing.

So is the Southeast.  Don't be so haughty; here in the Midwest it's rural and
plenty
of Northeasterners still look down on it as much as on the Southeast for that
reason,
lack of big cities.  Oh, and Chicago's best known in terms of the Sunbelt; it's
the Los
Angeles of the Midwest.  (heh, heh)

I noticed that from the moment I arrived here.  It's a border town just as DC
is.

I've been to the Bayou country, so I don't have to worry about dampness in the
Bootheel.
