Smog test recommendations?

  Does anyone have any specific recommendations or discommendations
about places to have a smog check done in Mt. View or Palo Alto?  My
father has discouraged me from going to my dealer, and the service
station near my home is not pass-or-no-pay, which I think I would
prefer.  

  Any thoughts or reports would be appreciated.  Thanks!
