The Palo Alto Area Chapter of the American Red Cross is looking for
volunteers to participate in its annual disaster drill, the morning of
Saturday, April 30 in Palo Alto. Each year the Red Cross stages this
drill to practice the disaster-relief skills that would be needed in
the event of an actual disaster. Typically, a shelter is opened up in
response to a mock disaster (such as an earthquake or an Oakland-style
firestorm), and "victims" are treated as they arrive.

The Red Cross is looking for volunteers to play the roles of victims,
would-be donors, nosy reporters, etc. Although the drill will run
from about 9 AM to 1 PM, any time you could give within that time
period would be appreciated.
