The network backbone of the University of Sydney
will be down from 6pm Friday, October the 2nd, until
the next Tuesday morning.

It is due to upgrade of the main electrical switchboard
in the Madsen building, where the Head-End of the Broadband
network is located.

The operation of the AARNet NSW regional Hub will be unaffected,
however AARNet sites outside the University of Sydney will
will be unable to conatct most hosts at the University of Sydney.
Metro.ucc.su.oz.au and extro.ucc.su.oz.au will be unaffected.

We have arranged for an external power supply for the
long weekend.
Therefore the network will be only down for a short period
on the Friday night when we switch supplies.

I will post more details latter.
