I cannot make this Sunday's American Conservatory Theater production of
Wrong Mountain.

"Wrong Mountain, the hysterical Broadway bound
comedy has its world premiere"

"Wrong Mountain tells the acidly satirical, often surreal tale of a poet
forced to confront the harsh reality of his own talent. Henry Dennett
has
devoted his life to the art of poetry and received little of the
literary
distinction he believes he deserves. Furiously intelligent and
formidably
self-important, Dennett sees his lack of public recognition as the
hallmark of
true artistic genius. At a particularly eventful (and hilariously
dysfunctional) Christmas dinner, however, Dennett's ex-wife's fiance-who
happens
to be a successful Broadway playwright- goads Dennett into lowering
himself (in
Dennett's opinion) to write for the stage. When his play is selected
for
development at a summer playwrights festival, Dennett can't help but be
pleased by his incipient success. As he journeys with his play from
first
reading to first production, he discovers the artistic possibilities of
a
medium he once had scorned, wrestling along the way with professional
insecurities, middle-aged sexual fantasies, his confrontational family,
flamboyant actors, the transformative properties of lithia water, and a
10-foot, 40-pount parasitic worm.
