This is a ground floor opportunity with a small start group within
Sun Microsystems, Inc. This group is dedicated to selling and licensing
SPARC technology to our customers. This group provides three services for
this technology: 1. Support of the technology sold and licensed, 2. Consulting
to the customers and 3. Custom engineering for our customers.

Product Support Engineer, H.W.- Candidate will work with customers and 
with Sun engineering to support system, board and chip level transfers
of technology. Will familiarize themselves with workstation board designs
as well as ASIC specifications. Position requires candidate to have 5 or
more years of experience with system design preferably SPARC based or 
similar technology. Candidate needs excellent communication skills both 
written and verbal. Previous work with customers and programming
experience is considered a plus. Degree with a BS / MS EE.


Product Support Engineer, S.W.- Candidate will work with customers both
internal and external to support the transfer of technology. Candidate 
will familarize themselves with system and microprocessor programming
models, related to hardware oriented code, drivers and test code. Will
provide answers to questions relating to design rationale and compatibility.Will advise on use of exsisting code. Position requires BS / MS CS with 5
or more years of experience in hardware level code and product support.
A Solaris / UNIX background is a must. RTOS experience is considered a plus.Requires excellent communication skills both written and verbal. 
Programming in one of the following langauges is also required:C,C++,ADA.

SYSTEMS SOFTWARE CONSULTING MANAGER- Candidate will manage systems software 
group providing engineering consulting services and custom engineering to SPARC technology licensees. Must have 8 years experience with at least 3 years 
engineering and 3 years management of a small group. Should be UNIX oriented at the hardware level programming. Can do system architecture, behavioral models 
and hardware simulation. MSCS or equivalent. Candidate must have good 
communication skills with customers. Sun OS / Solaris exposure, SPARC 
Architecture and reference MMV, and MP / FT exposure are all considered pluses
