How to block input for a particular XView application

I have an application with a main window and some another windows (not popups but
it does not matter as the main window is the XV_OWNER of the secondary ones).
I have a button in one of the secondary window which is supposed to do a SAVE of some
internal data structure in a file and this operation may take a long time.

I managed to recover the full hierarchy of windows and set each of the frames
I found to a busy state but if I click on any item in my interface while all
frames are in busy=true state then all my events are still buffered and I don't
wnat this.

Second, I tried to modify the WIN_X_EVENT_MASK of the frames I set to busy
but it does not prevent events to occur within let's say panels contained by those frames.
I don't want to store a table of win/frame/panels with their X_EVENT_MASKS and restore
this list after the SAVE is completed.

Is there some XView /XLib functionality that I missed ?

Thanks for any answer/pointer
Olivier
