FOR SALE!
IBM Actionwriter 1 Electric Typewriter
*******************************************************************************
The short form:
Typewriter for sale. It's one of those office-type desk typewriters,
not a tiny fold up one... This is IBM. This is heavy duty. :)
Price: Asking $400/Or Best Offer. (See below for pricing info...)
Comes with a power cord, 46 page instruction manual, and oodles o' features!
*******************************************************************************
The long form:
Features Include:
-Automatic paper loading
-Page-End Indicator (so you know when you're gonna run out of room)
-Paper Up/Paper Down (and Micro P U/P D) buttons
-Code Key for extended commands
-Pitch Selection
-Impression Control
-Line Spacing adjustments for 1, 1.5, 2, and 3 line spacing
-Margin Control
-Tab Control
-Automatic Carrier Return (ACR) (so you don't have to hit Return
all the time)
-Correction Capabilities/Memory
-Relocate function
-Backspace/Half-Backspace functions
-Decimal Tab (to keep columns of numbers tidy)
-Automatic Text Centering
-between margins
-between ACR margin zones
-on tab stops
-around any desired position on the typing line
-Flush Right function
-Automatic Underline
-Paragraph Indent
-Repeat Key
The details:
-This typewriter has 1 year of use on it, and has been sitting,
unused, for several years.
-It is in perfect working condition.
-It needs a new ribbon, and a new corrector-tape (see prices below)
-Has a flip-out handle for lugging around, but the operative word
here is LUG. It's HEAVY, and was meant to sit on a desk. This is
not a skimpy little machine; it's a heavy-duty, modern piece of
office equipment.
Pricing info:
-Ribbons cost $7.30 each, according to the typewriter store I
called recently. This is up from approximately $6 in 1987-88, so
it's not climbing fast. Ribbons last a good long time.
-The corrector-tape costs $4, according to the same store, and lasts
proportional to your typing ability. (Still a long time, even if
you mess up a lot.)
-I asked how much the typewriter would cost nowadays, so that I
could offer a fair price, but not too high or too low. They said
that this model is no longer current, but that the nearest
equivalent model is going for $650. (I was quite surprised! Mine
was a gift, so I didn't know how much it was worth...)
-In any event, I was thinking of asking about $400 for the
typewriter, since it was used, and the woman said that was a fair
price.
Why am I selling it?
Because I am moving to San Francisco at the end of the semester,
and don't want to carry the extra luggage. Also, I do my writing on
the computer, so the typewriter just kinda sits, and to be
perfectly honest, I could use the money! (*GRIN*)
I understand that it's a bit daft advertising a typewriter on the
Net, but if you know of anyone else who might be interested, or
some business somewhere...please pass on this info.

If you're interested, either email me at salsbury@acsu.buffalo.edu
or give a call at (716)833-3960
If you're interested, but from out of town, we can negotiate
shipping. (I may cover it, and absorb that from the sale price. I'm open to
other suggestions, too.)
Thanks!
Pat

I am looking for a dolby pro logic reciever preferably around 100-120 watts for left and right channels (yes 120 EACH not 60 each) with around 20 for rear and center.. A kenwood would be nice.. but any setup like that would be great..
