Showing bare breasts on the CBC for three seconds a day does not make you french in your attitudes towards nudity. As for youth violence, I remember the youth hockey games, and all you non-violent canucks telling your sons to kill the other team >Having lived a number of years in both I can Judge both societies, >and trust me my stay here is certainly temporary. We couldn't be happier that you are leaving. As you are clearly incapable of rational thought, you are clearly incapable of supporting yourself. Don't let the door hit you on the ass. >But your sense of humour is so blunt and moronic. Please. I've seen "The Kids in the Hall". You call this high-brow? "I'm crushing your head, I'm crushing your head". Pathetic. >If Canada is such a pathetic place then why does the U.N. continue to >rate it as the #1 best quality of life and most developed nation on the >face of the earth while the U.S.languishes as little more than >an extrememly rich third world nation with old fashioned conservative >politics, vast destabilizing differences between rich and poor, murder rates >more than 10 times those in truly developed nations, and the only "Developed" >SMIRK! nation with no universal healthcare (When you say "Socialized medecine >ooohhh, yuck how radical! WE HAVE THE BEST MEDICAL CARE IN THE WORLD" we >in the truly developed world say "HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA!") If you knew anything, which you clearly don't, then you would know that the US ranked us second, right behind you. The gap between rich and poor in canada is almost as high as the gap in the US, the poverty rate is actually higher and the murder rate is one-third of ours. As for your medical, it is second rate. Most of my relatives in Montreal go to Plattsburg because they don't want to wait for treatment. Your cure rates for major diseases are much lower than ours, and your system is bankrupt, giving you the highest debt in the G7, after Italy. As for those conservative politics, I take it that you believe Mike Harris to be a liberal? And when we think of your unemployment rates we in the employed world say "HAHAHAHAHAHA". >ands safe clean streets no stress over fear of getting bankrupting medical >bills, lower infant mortality rate, and longer life expectancy. Safe, clean streets? HAHAHAHA. That's a laugh. I've lived in Montreal. Number one, the place is filthy. Number two, I heard more whining about "I don't feel safe" than I ever did in New York. As for differences in infant mortality rate and life expectancy, it is negligable. >Robertson Davies, Margeret Atwood, Margeret Lawrence, Moreccai Richler... Margret Atwood? "The Handmaid's Tale"? Trash... Davies was good, but not great. As for Mordecai Richler, I know him. He's a good man, and writes well. But he won't be read in 40 years. "Oh Canada, Oh Quebec!" will be seen as a failed appeal for a second-rate nation to hold itseld together. This, in true canadian fashion, won't pan out. >Maybe not the greatest authors ever but I think we do ok from our >pool of 30 odd million... No, you don't. Compared to the truly great novelists and poets we've produced, you've done absolutely nothing. Have you even won a Nobel Prize in literature? We have 11.... >Here, write a ration of assasinated Canadian Prime ministers to >the AMERICAN counterpart: A "ration"? Are you drunk, or just illiterate? Oh, you meant "ratio"! I see. Very witty. HAHAHA. I suspect that there would have been more political assassinations in Canada if canadians weren't so incompetent. >Canadians have bravely donned the Blue helmet and performed their peacekeeping >duty for the U.N. and layed down their lives for it under the U.N. colours >(many many in Cyprus) >across the world with none of this "Never serve under foreign command" >bullshit. Of course not. With your command, I'd be happy to serve under Genghis Kahn. As for your participation in UN missions, you never do any of the heavy lifting. When we were about to go into Haiti 15 months ago to restore democracy, where was Canada? When we drew a line in the sand in the gulf, where was Canada? You're just a bunch of johnny-come-latelys. >We posess a true internationalist spirit of loyalty to the U.N. and pay our >dues promptly, and give generous foreign aid. Our U.N. ambassadors have been >great leaders of peace who have proudly represented progress social-justice >and fairness from Lester Pearson to Steven Lewis a man hailed and loved >by people across the developing world. You really believe this, don't you? That's quite sad. Tell you what little canadian, we'll continue guaranteeing the international sea lanes, defending the Korean peninsula, keeping the peace in the rest of Asia, keeping the peace in Bosnia and making peace in the Middle East, and you pay your bills on time. There, feel better? >Ok Ok the somalia thing, every country has criminals and mishaps but to focus >on it is to rediculously overlook the big picture. Why not? People still bring up My Lai, and that was 25 years ago. Somalia was just a bit more recent, and racially motivated, to boot. >A history of peace law and order, The Mounties partolling the west so >it was never wild, a peaceful confederation without bloodshed, no genocide >of native americans after breaking their treaties. Uh, I think you've swallowed a little bit too much of your government propaganda. Go to your Indian reservations, and just open your eyes. You'll see just how well your government has treated the native Americans in Canada. >Still rated #1 by the U.N. >HA HA!!! Canada got a 95 out of 100, and the US got 93.5. Hardly a big difference. -- .sig under destruction...
