> How do we do that? What do we need to do that will really, truly get > the job done? And what will it cost? Nothing less than martial law in the border states. Last time I checked, there was something called the Fourth Amendment right against illegal search and seizure, as defined by the Miranda principles requiring probable cause for search. So how do we check for illegals? Does "Hey, dat dere's a brown person" constitute probable cause for citizenship check? Or do we require people to wear ID readily visible on their person at all times? "Papers please." Veiling racism behind the flag of "security" does not make it any less racist. > we need to restrict immigration to the minimum consistent with > stabilizing the U.S. population. As I have proven twice on this board, 60% of population growth in this nation is due to domestic population, not immigration. You could reduce immigration to 0 and still not stabilize the US population. > OK, but to make this stick, I think we need need a federally managed and > supported, absolutely foolproof individual identification system, like a > national identity card for each person, keyed to a retinal scan or some > such Dowds, you've been watching too many spy movies. Retinal scans are a tedious, data-heavy method of checking identity. Certainly any government office cannot possibly house the complete retinal data for 280+ million Americans. No, the only foolproof way to insure identity would be to implant tracer chips subcutaneously. But even this isn't foolproof. These chips would be worth a fortune to those seeking citizenship. I could see mortuary workers digging one out of Grandma to sell in Juarez or Tijuana. Or, given Amerikkka's propensity for outsourcing, a line worker in Taiwan grabbing a handful for his family. Poof! Instant Amerikkkans. I won't even waste my time with the "enforcing employers" bulldrek. Apparently, hiring a Mexican to cut your lawn is a sin beyond sin, but if Microsoft takes its whole consumer service department to India, that's business. If you want fair wages, require American companies to hire Americans, or get the Hell out of Dodge. /Roy
