$$$$$ What else. Oil and coal (electricity production) could be reduced 
more quickly by conservation than any other way (increase mpg, subsidize 
insulation, improve public transportation, stop wrapping everything in 
plastic, enforce pollution laws around refineries and chemical plants). 
Clean coal has been dropped because it reduces profit$. Scientific 
American had a whole magazine, about a year ago, dedicated to global 
warming, which parallels your concerns.

EPA is blocking California's attempt to set mpg for cars sold in this 
state. Blame your CEO President. Formerly the president of Busto Oil.
